BUILDING LEGACY WEALTH
Shawn “Handy” Hodge has turned his fascination with architecture into not only a successful trade for himself, but a profitable and rewarding endeavor on his path towards legacy wealth. As a graduate of the “Mecca,” Howard University School of Architecture, he enjoys buying and rehabbing properties from which he gains value and confidence in the wise investment decisions he inspires.
Prior to embarking on his real estate investment career, he served his country as a United States Army logistics officer with multiple tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. These experiences, instilled the discipline in him, that is necessary to build a powerful real estate investment company. After achieving the rank of Captain, promotable to Major, he decided that it was time to pursue his first love and passion, Architecture.
While working at several top ranked architecture firms, he experienced the disappointment of being laid off, both, before and after the Great Recession. He decided that it was time to create a solution. A solution for financial stability, passive income and working for himself, while creating generational wealth.

Handy is currently, the owner of several investment properties in the British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands, Georgia, Arkansas, Alabama, New Mexico and “Motor City” Detroit. He is always exploring opportunities to increase his real estate portfolio and has mastered the craft of investing remotely. Investing remotely has enabled him to research, understand and tap into investment markets outside of his Atlanta base. He has been able to make a number of successful investments by building solid trusting relationships with other investors and contractors, with whom he partners to oversee the day-to-day operations of his rehab projects and land acquisition.
On a personal note, Handy attributes much of his successes, not only to his passion for Architecture, but also to his understanding of the psychology of buying and holding. His real estate investment philosophy is never to sell, but to buy and hold. Handy is also a supporter of the “Buying Back the Block” movement. This movement involves buying back inner city homes (properties) and blighted homes in poverty stricken communities. The movement is a blueprint that allows the minority to own a piece of the neighborhood in which they were once, or are currently, renting, while creating legacy wealth.
